The University of Dubrovnik (UNIDU) has been included for the first time in one of the prestigious world university rankings – QS World University Rankings, and in the international ranking U-Multirank, funded by the European Commission.
In the QS World University Rankings, the University of Dubrovnik ranks in 250-300 place in the Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region. The QS World University Rankings recognized the high quality of our scientific research, and according to citations per paper, we are ranked second in Croatia, behind the University of Zagreb. The QS World University Rankings is one of the three most famous world rankings of academic excellence, which included only six higher education institutions from Croatia.
In the international ranking U-Multirank, the University of Dubrovnik is ranked 616th out of 748 EU higher education institutions included, and stands out in research and international orientation. In the area of internationalization, UNIDU has been among the leaders in Croatia for years. In 2019, the number of publications in the world’s leading scientific journals was increased by 150 %. In addition, almost HRK 17 million of international scientific and professional projects were contracted. Seven higher education institutions from Croatia are included in the 2020 edition, and the University of Dubrovnik holds the fourth position among Croatian universities, behind the University of Split, University Zagreb and University Rijeka.
The inclusion of the University of Dubrovnik in prestigious global rankings is a great success and recognition for the efforts of all university employees in promoting scientific and teaching excellence.
