CATIA project proposal team has gathered on the 30th and 31st, January 2020, in Varna, Bulgaria

The first face-to-face Partners’ Meeting of CATIA (Culture, Arts, Tourism, Innovations Alliance) was held on 30-31 January 2020 in Varna, Bulgaria. The two-days agenda was focussed on discussions and agreement on basic principles of the partnership, including validation of mission, structure and governance, work packages and deliverables but also about the impact pathways and short-terms tasks within the project application phase.
The meeting was hosted by University of Economics – Varna – the coordinator from Bulgaria and also included Università degli studi di Bari Aldo Moro from Italy, Sveučilište u Dubrovniku from Croatia, Liepājas Universitāte from Latvia, Univerzita Pavla Jozefa Šafárika v Košiciach from Slovakia. Lietuvos verslo kolegija from Lithuania joined remotely via video conference call. CATIA is an integrated university education environment that involves developing professional profiles that can be immediately placed at European level. The European students of the future must be able to access this educational path, at any level, from any university location of the alliance, complete it without any restriction of mobility between the locations, acquire both regional and community skills, achieve a qualification recognized at European level, professionally usable throughout the community, thus becoming European citizens capable of contributing to the growth of the European continent itself. This is what CATIA stands for.
 

DAY 1: CATIA’s LONG-TERM VISION, AMBITIONS AND ADDED VALUE

During the first day of this CATIA Partners’ Meeting special attention was given to the CATIA’s introduction and promotion among academics, students, associated partners and stakeholders. Each partner institution was presented as well as the long-term vision, the ambitions, the vision and the main aims of our alliance. The students’ community was widely represented and also shared its views on the development of the university of the future. Institutional support and great will for collaboration was expressed in person by the CEO of the Bulgarian Festivals Association – Mrs. Svetlozara Hristova and the Chairman of the Varna Chamber of tourism – Mr. Ilin Dimitrov.

The key topics addressed during the working sessions in that first day were related not only to organizational structure, governance but to validation of the relevance of our project proposal, sounding the distinctive features together and highlighting the innovations set out in the project proposal.

The first day of the meeting was rounded off with a discussion the mission statement, value proposition.

DAY 2: CATIA IN DETAILS – DELIVERABLES, GANTT CHART, BUDGET ALLOCATION

The second meeting day was dedicated to CATIA project proposal developing stage: technical description, budget allocation, tasks distribution and responsibilities coverage.

Coordination of activities and agreements on CATIA, core documents and procedures, were discussed as well. Various possibilities to enhance transparency, synergy and efficiency in international level were explored and adopted by all CATIA members.

The second and last day of this project proposal preparatory event ended up with a list of the action steps that need to take place to move CATIA forward together with a clear vision where the efforts are headed–the big picture.
